Reunion

Lemon Family Reunion...at least we got Paul to keep his eyes part way open...

The whole Lemon crew...

We're back from our whirlwind trip to Burlington, IA. And, I'm sad to report that my niece did not listen to my pleas to be born one week early :(. Oh well, we'll wait to come see her til mid-August, when Paul has a couple events to come back to Iowa for.

The reunion was pretty fun! It was for Pauls Dad's side of the family, the Lemon side. His grandma turned 90 years old that weekend, so the family decided to throw a reunion in her honor. We left Thursday afternoon to pick up Joey (Paul's bro) in Kansas, then headed to IA Friday am. We got back Monday afternoon after a 15 hour drive home. There were plenty of picnics, a night with a good ol fashioned band at the senior center (complete with polka songs and tubas), and some fun in between with the cousins.

Pretty sure only a few times we were asked where our kids were...um, at the dog kennel? No seriously, all the other cousins that are married have kids, so guess we're going for the Abraham and Sarah award of raising kids at an older age! Though, Paul does have a couple cousins that got married later and started their families around 35, 36 or 38 years old, so that gives me some hope!

Though the weekend was fun, I can't stress enough how good it feels to be home again! I missed my friends and my home, so I guess that tells me we're finally settling into things down here. Iowa trip #2 is complete, now awaiting Iowa trip #3 in two weeks for a very GOOD reason! We're ready for you, little Lilah!
